SOME ASPECTS OF TREATMENT

Meridians
Using Kinesiology you can obtain feedback about the energy flow in the meridians. Meridians are channels of energy, life force, that flow throughout the body nourishing the body's functions and organs. They form the basis of acupuncture and Chinese medicine. An imbalance in the meridian flow will create disharmony in the body.

Meridians are an intricate part of a whole network of 'circuits' interconnecting different parts and functions of the body. Stress, inappropriate diet, injuries and various other factors can upset the smooth and regular functioning of meridians and other systems in the body. Kinesiology has the ability to locate and influence the myriad of circuits in the body to bring about balance and harmony.

There is a direct relationship between meridian, muscles and gland or organs.

STOMACH MERIDIAN

The Pectoralis Major Clavicular muscle shown relates to the Stomach Meridian. Using the reflex points associated with this muscle affects both the stomach and emotional centres within the brain.
These relationships may be responsible for digestive disturbances brought on by emotional stress.

Stress Release

Stress related work is a major part of the Kinesiology field and fundamental to its effectiveness in this area are the Emotional Stress Release or Stress defusion concepts. Stress release techniques are very simple yet extremely powerful. They are taught in all Kinesiology courses and are used regularly by practitioners. Unresolved emotions and stress can block or impair the proper functioning of the body and mind. Stress Release techniques can help to clear blockages relating to past or present traumas, belief systems, negative thoughts etc.

Emotional Stress Release can be used by any individual for their own benefit or to help others. It works well in any situation that causes stress from taking exams to asking for a raise, going on holiday to the breakdown of a relationship and for everyday upsets. It is a useful tool when planning ahead, setting goals and to use with affirmations.

Food Sensitivity Testing

The Twentieth Century has given us a time when numerous major health concerns are manifesting as food sensitivities and allergies. Muscle testing is a wonderful tool for determining food intolerances or sensitivities. In fact, with Kinesiology techniques individuals are able to monitor regularly what foods their bodies can cope with or not. Young children and babies are not excluded from help as feedback can be obtained by using surrogate testing.

Nutrition

Another important part of being healthy is the food we eat and the nutritional support we give our body. Many health conditions respond to the ingestion of identified supplements such as vitamins, minerals, fatty acids and herbal remedies. A whole variety of chronic conditions respond favourably to food/nutritional changes. Many sufferers of migraine, arthritis, candida, eczema, cystitis, fatigue etc. can benefit from this aspect of treatment. Kinesiology can help identify which nutrients and supplements, such as vitamins, are needed to help return the body to balance and harmony.

Enhanced Learning

Much of the electrical, circuit or nervous system work in Kinesiology comes into the realm of 'brain integration' and works with aspects such as learning problems. Kinesiology has developed many techniques for 'switching on' eyes, ears, co-ordination and the brain as a 'whole' which enhance the learning process.

The potential of Kinesiology in this area was brought to the fore by Dr Paul Dennison, whose discoveries updating conventional cross patterning movements have been most profound. While "cross crawling" (moving opposite arm and leg as in marching) is considered a normal motor activity, many people are not tuned into this intergrated movement. Consequently, their body prefers non intergrated modes which can have a detrimental effect on their ability to learn or respond appropriately to stress. Helping people to address this imbalance is very basic to Kinesiology and the changes it brings about are truly amazing.

WHERE DO I BEGIN?
People choose to learn kinesiology techniques because they are simple, effective, fascinating and easy to use. Some of the courses have been specifically developed to teach the lay person how to use kinesiology. More advanced courses are available for those wishing to learn further techniques and obtain an in-depth understanding of kinesiology (e.g. practitioner & instructor training).

There are a number of different branches of modalities of Kinesiology, descriptions of those most commonly taught in the U.K. are included in this Directory. Although universal fundamentals such as muscle testing, stress release, food sensitivity testing will be found in most Kinesiology courses each branch has its area of focus and has developed its own specialised methods of assessment and correction.

A popular beginning point in Kinesiology is the Touch for Health 1 course which covers a range of basic techniques that people can use straight away. On the other hand Educational Kinesiology (Brain Gym 1) is an excellent starting point for parents, teachers and educators who are intersected in working to improve learning skills in a simple and easy manner. Three in One Concepts courses begin with Tools of the Trade which provides a firm grounding in Kinesiology and emphasises the emotional side of health and well being.

BECOMING AN INSTRUCTOR OR PRACTITIONER IN KINESIOLOGY
